Is Naples safe in 2026? What the city-proper numbers actually mean for homeowners

The search is “is Naples FL safe,” “Naples crime 2026,” and “Naples burglary rate.” The honest answer is that City of Naples proper is a small city of about 20,000 people inside a much larger Collier County, and the city-proper rates look better than Florida’s violent-crime average. That is not a reason to skip monitoring. NeighborhoodScout’s 2024 calendar-year figures, released from FBI data in October 2025, counted 22 violent, 278 property, and 300 total crimes in the city proper. Violent crime ran 1.09 per 1,000 residents versus Florida’s 2.67. Property crime ran 13.78 per 1,000 versus Florida’s 14.2. A quieter city-proper year is good news. It is not a person at a monitoring center.

Home Security Systems Naples does not scare-sell those figures. We cite a third-party compilation of official reporting and then sell the product: professionally installed sensors, optional cameras, ADT 24/7, cellular backup when FPL or a building router is dark. Call (239) 439-6005 with the ZIP. SafeStreets is the ADT Authorized Provider that installs. ADT monitors 24/7. A safer-looking year is good news. It is not the watch. This is Naples, Florida — not Naples, New York, and not a mill of every Gulf-coast town.

City of Naples proper is not greater Collier

Treat the numbers as city-proper, not as a marketing brochure for all of Collier County. The municipal line is small. Park Shore, Coquina Sands, the Moorings, Old Naples, Port Royal, and Aqualane Shores sit inside it or on it. Pelican Bay, Golden Gate, Golden Gate Estates, Grey Oaks, Mediterra, Vineyards, Lely Resort, Fiddler’s Creek, Ave Maria, and most of North Naples sit outside it. Collier Sheriff numbers are a different report. Marco Island Police numbers are a different report. People search “is Naples safe” and mean the whole map they drive. The table they find is often the city of 20,000.

We will not invent a 2025 Naples Police Department annual homicide count. We do not have an official NPD year-end homicide total we can stand behind, so we will not print one. We will not invent a neighborhood-by-neighborhood rate. Citywide figures mix Fifth Avenue, Gulf Shore Boulevard high-rises, and quiet residential streets. A quieter street is not 24/7 monitoring.

Occupancy is still occupancy. Empty houses still sit. Seasonal empties still sit. That sentence survives a good year and a bad year. Greater Collier is hundreds of thousands of people. The city-proper table is not their grade.

NeighborhoodScout’s 2024 numbers, released October 2025

NeighborhoodScout published a 2024 calendar-year compilation for Naples, released October 2025 as the latest FBI-based set available when this article was written in 2026. Twenty-two violent crimes. Two hundred seventy-eight property crimes. Three hundred total. Violent 1.09 per 1,000 versus Florida 2.67. Property 13.78 versus Florida 14.2. Those are the numbers we can cite with a source and a date. They are a compilation, not a press release from Naples Police, and they are city-proper.

Homicide totals are not how we quote a Park Shore condo. Porch packages, leftover keypads, golf-cart pads, and school-day empties are. If you own a house, burglary and theft from a porch, a lanai, a dock, or a car are the categories that match a door sensor, a garage contact, and an optional doorbell. We will not pretend 22 violent crimes means every ZIP is interchangeable. We also will not pretend 22 is a reason to panic-buy twelve cameras.

This article is dated in 2026 so those 2024 figures, released October 2025, can sit here honestly. We do not backdate them into a 2023 evergreen post and pretend the year had already closed. When NPD publishes a later official annual you can trust, that year can live on a later page. Until then we will not invent 2025’s homicide count.

CrimeGrade burglary is a third-party estimate, not official NIBRS

CrimeGrade’s burglary estimate for Naples sits around 0.86 per 1,000 in their model, which they present as safer than Florida and U.S. averages. Cite it as a third-party estimate. It is not official NIBRS. It is not Naples Police. It is not Collier Sheriff. It is a modeled rate on city boundaries. We name it so you have seen the “Naples is safer than average” sentence from a source people actually Google. We do not treat it as a dispatch desk.

A modeled burglary rate under 1 per 1,000 is still burglary. It is still empty houses. It is still a slider. It is still a leftover keypad that is not ADT. Safer than average is not zero. Safer than average is not monitoring.

We do not sell a keypad as a domestic-violence plan. We sell a keypad as a door plan. Keep the product in its lane or you will hate it for the wrong reason. Vehicle theft and golf-cart theft still exist even when headlines move. A garage walk-through contact is the boring add. A camera on Complete+ is the clip of a driveway. Neither replaces the other. Ask for the opening you actually have.

September 15–16 2026: 1st Avenue South, Oleander, a BMW, and the Four Seasons

On September 15 and 16, 2026, Naples Police publicized a short empty-house and driveway pattern in Old Naples. A resident on 1st Avenue South reported a burglary — someone went into a garage and took items. The same street had a stolen BMW rental with credit cards and personal property inside. A resident on Oleander Drive reported a burglary in progress. Credit cards from the pattern were used in a spree at the Four Seasons on Gulf Shore Boulevard. That is not a citywide crime wave. That is the occupancy story this product actually matches: empty house, open garage, driveway, cards in a car, a building that looks busy while the house two streets off is not watched.

We cite that week so you do not think we need a homicide total to take the order. We also cite it so you do not think a quiet NeighborhoodScout year retired the garage contact. Driveways sit. Rental cars sit. Houses sit while someone is at the beach or at dinner on Fifth Avenue. Arm the system. Close the overhead. Do not leave cards in a car and then call that a security plan.

Park Shore and Gulf Shore Boulevard condos sit next to the Four Seasons pattern geographically and still need their own door count. A hotel camera is not your slider. Porch packages is the stoop and cart article. This page is why you should not use a citywide rate as a reason to wait.

GSAC 2026: dock electronics, not a citywide verdict

The Gulf Shore Association of Condominiums January 2026 blotter, prepared with Naples Police crime-analyst notes, flagged vessel burglaries at residential docks targeting marine electronics — navigation, GPS, removable gear — often late night and early morning at docks without on-site security. Bicycle thefts were an ongoing trend in open outdoor areas and unsecured patios. That is unsupervised property next to unsupervised doors. It is not a reason we mill every Gulf Shore Boulevard building as unsafe.

A dock camera is a Complete+ conversation and a condo-docs conversation. A bike in a hallway is an association rule. A door sensor is still the burglary product. People hear “vessel burglary” and want a camera on the water. Ask the board first. Then still put a contact on the unit door. GSAC is a blotter. It is not ADT. It is not SafeStreets.

We put GSAC next to NeighborhoodScout on purpose. One is a city-proper compilation. One is a Gulf Shore condo blotter. Neither is a watch on your lanai. Occupancy is the closer. Empty unit. Door. ADT.

Seasonal empties drive the order more than a rate

Snowbirds empty Park Shore, Pelican Bay, the Moorings, Marco Island, and a lot of inland lots from late spring through fall. Year-round households empty toward CCPS and toward jobs on Immokalee Road. Those hours match burglary and theft better than a Saturday-night story. A professionally installed system cannot promise your address is not in next year’s count. It can promise that an armed door opening becomes a call from ADT instead of a surprise when you get home from Gulf Coast High pickup or from a summer in Michigan.

People skip monitoring in a “safe city” year and then order after the one incident on their street. That is a human pattern, not a Naples-only pattern. The cheaper time to order is the week you move in, leftover keypad still on the wall, $99 install* still on the table, not the week after someone tried the slider. Promotional packages start at $53.99/mo* for ADT Secure+, then $63.99*, $74.99*. $99 install on many plans. Typically 36 months. Early termination fees apply. Credit approval applies. Offers are for homeowners. Crime looking quieter does not change those numbers. Crime looking quieter also does not make a leftover keypad live. The four numbers live on monitoring packages.

Cellular backup is the other “quiet year” sentence. A better crime year does not stop a storm from taking FPL lines. A Wi-Fi camera still dies with the router. Ask it on the quote even if you called because of a news story.

Collier Sheriff versus Naples PD versus Marco PD

Naples Police numbers are the city. Collier Sheriff numbers are unincorporated Collier and the parts of the county that are not independent cities. Marco Island Police numbers are 34145. Bonita Springs is Lee County, not Collier — Lee County Sheriff paper, and we do not mill Fort Myers as if this is that city’s site. Dispatch after an alarm is the department that serves the address. ADT requests help. The department responds the way that department responds. We will not print a minute count.

A Pelican Bay household that treats NeighborhoodScout’s city-proper drop as their local grade is reading the wrong report. Confirm the desk from the ZIP. A quieter city ZIP still has sliders. A county ZIP still has school-day empties, leftover keypads, and porch boxes. We install in both when they sit in this window. Three desks is the paper. The Naples security guide is the local map.

We will not tell you Naples Police is “too busy” so you should buy cameras, and we will not tell you Collier Sheriff is “so quiet” you should skip sensors. Occupancy is the closer. The report is context.

Burglary is the category that matches this product

Property crime at 13.78 per 1,000 in city proper is the sentence that matches a door sensor. It is still a pile of houses, condos, cars, and businesses. Residential openings are what SafeStreets puts contacts on. A 0.86-per-1,000 CrimeGrade burglary estimate, if you want the modeled number, is still burglary. Buy the opening. Add video if you want the clip.

Porch theft is not in a violent-crime total. People search “is Naples safe” after a box walks off a Park Shore stoop or a Pelican Bay cart pad, then bounce off a violent-crime rate that has nothing to do with the box. Twenty-two violent crimes is not porch theft. Two hundred seventy-eight property crimes is closer, and it is still not the clip of a driver leaving a Chewy bag in view of Gulf Shore Boulevard. A doorbell on Complete+ is the clip. A door sensor on Secure+ is the alarm if they try the house. Buy the layer that matches the problem you actually had. Do not skip both because the violent-crime year looked better than Florida’s average.

House versus condo, ZIP, cameras yes or no, leftover keypad. That is the 239 intake. We do not need a heat map. We need openings. A Park Shore high-rise with one door is not a Golden Gate Estates walk-out. A Coquina Sands ranch with six windows you open is not a Grey Oaks house with a gate. Architecture is not the quote. Occupancy is.

What we will not do with a crime map

We will not draw a heat map. We will not rank neighborhoods as good and bad for SEO. We will not tell you Park Shore is unsafe. We will not tell you Pelican Bay is so safe the leftover keypad can wait. We will not invent a 2025 NPD homicide total. We will not hide $53.99*, $99 install*, or 36 months behind a crime statistic. We will not take a form. We will not take a tenant on the homeowner promotion. We will not mill Fort Myers. We will not mill Naples, New York.

We will not pretend 22 violent crimes is a personality trait of the city that lasts forever. Our headline is still occupancy. Empty house. Door. ADT. FAQs is the short version of cost and paper.

School days and snowbird months, not night-time legends

Most of the unsupervised hours in this metro are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a Collier County Public Schools calendar, or May through October on a snowbird calendar. Naples High, Barron Collier, Gulf Coast, Lely, Palmetto Ridge, Golden Gate, Aubrey Rogers, Lorenzo Walker Technical, Immokalee High. Those hours match burglary better than a Saturday night story. School-day empties is the calendar article. Arm the system for those hours even if you only searched this page because a crime table made the news.

CCPS is A-rated for 2025-26, nine consecutive years. That is a district fact. It is not a security system. The mascot does not watch the lanai. Builder leftovers in Golden Gate and North Naples sit through those hours with plastic on the wall. Builder leftovers is the hardware. Photograph them. Order monitoring. Then arm it for Tuesday at 1 p.m.

One system. Several calendars. Arm whenever the hallway is empty.

What homeowners actually call about

Not homicide maps. Porch packages in Park Shore and Pelican Bay. A leftover builder keypad in Golden Gate. A Marco Island house empty on a boat day. A Bonita Springs two-story empty toward a Lee County school. An FPL outage that killed a Wi-Fi camera. Those calls did not wait for a crime map to turn red. They waited for the house to sit empty.

We confirm the earliest SafeStreets window on the call. We do not invent same-day install. Other coverage is never a next-morning promise. The crime report does not change the dispatch desk. City of Naples false-alarm fees are still $0 / $10 / $75 in six months. Collier Sheriff registration is still unincorporated paper. Marco Island still confirms from 34145. Bonita Springs is still Lee County.

If you moved from a 34102 house to a 34135 house because you wanted a different feel, congratulations. Photograph the leftover panel. File Bonita’s office, not City of Naples by default. The move did not bring monitoring with the furniture.

HOA plats and “safe neighborhood” listings

Pelican Bay, Grey Oaks, Mediterra, Quail West, Vineyards, Lely Resort, and Fiddler’s Creek listings love the word safe. Gates, covenants, trams, and a leftover keypad are not ADT. HOA camera rules is why a board can limit video and still leave the door unwatched. Indoor sensors do not need a variance. Monitoring does not need a crime spike. A 22-violent-crime year in city proper does not retire the leftover keypad in a North Naples utility room.

People use “is Naples safe” as a relocation question. Pick the school. Pick the commute. Then order the watch for the hours nobody is in the hallway. That is the whole use of this page. We will not rank Park Shore against Golden Gate as a safety product. We will count doors in both. See communities for the neighborhood list we actually write.

A gate that closes at night is not 24/7 monitoring. People tailgate through. The slider is still a slider. Order the openings.

How to order the watch, not the verdict

Call (239) 439-6005. ZIP. House versus condo. Door and slider count. Cameras yes or no. Leftover keypad photo. Hear the monthly price, the install, the agreement, and the registration office. SafeStreets installs. ADT monitors 24/7. We confirm the earliest window. We do not invent same-day.

NeighborhoodScout’s 22 / 278 / 300 is a better-looking city-proper year than a national headline cycle. CrimeGrade’s ~0.86 burglary estimate is a modeled rate, not NIBRS. September 15–16 2026 was an empty-house and driveway pattern on 1st Avenue South and Oleander Drive. GSAC 2026 was dock electronics and bikes. Seasonal empties still drive the order. Collier Sheriff, Naples PD, and Marco PD are still different desks. Naples-area homeowners can trust a SafeStreets security system monitored by ADT. The report is not a person at a monitoring center. The 239 call is how you get the person.
