Naples security guide: occupancy, Collier permits, leftover keypads, hurricane nights
The quote starts with house vs condo vs rental vs larger lot — not the look of the stucco. Then we name the desk from your ZIP and ADT monitors 24/7.
Occupancy first. Architecture is not a product.
Naples mixes single-family streets in Old Naples and East Naples, stacked units in Park Shore and Pelican Bay, larger lots in Golden Gate Estates, guest houses off Port Royal, and resales with a leftover keypad. That mix is a living fact, not the product. The product is a professionally installed, ADT-monitored home security system. On the call we ask house vs condo vs apartment, ZIP, leftover keypad yes/no, and cameras yes/no.
An Old Naples or Park Shore house is doors, a lanai slider, and often a garage walk-through. A Pelican Bay condo is indoor contacts the board will actually allow. A seasonal rental adds extra keys — promotional offers are for homeowners. A Golden Gate Estates lot is a longer driveway and weaker Wi-Fi at the back fence. We will not copy one kit onto the other. Packages start at $53.99/mo*.
The kit after you name how you live
Single-family house
Old Naples, East Naples, Vanderbilt Beach. Front door, lanai slider, garage walk-through first. Doorbell if packages sit on the porch. Skip the twelve-camera list on a modest lot.
Condo
Park Shore, Pelican Bay, Vanderbilt Beach stacked units. Boards often kill hallway cameras. A panel and contacts inside the unit plus ADT 24/7 is still a complete system. Staffed desks help with boxes. They do not call ADT at 2 a.m.
Apartment / rental
Ask who can authorize the install. Indoor contacts still work. Outdoor video is often a no. Seasonal keys add extra codes — say who can disarm the panel. Promotional offers are for homeowners.
Larger-lot house
Golden Gate Estates, North Naples, Immokalee, Ave Maria. Decks, sliders, long driveways. Weak Wi-Fi at the back of the lot is normal — cellular backup by name. A different city desk is a permit conversation, not a reason to skip monitoring.
Extra unit
Guest house, cabana, pool house, or garage apartment — common in Port Royal, Aqualane, and Golden Gate Estates. That is a second door list, not a footnote. Say who keeps a key. One ADT watch can cover both if we count the openings.
Leftover keypad
Golden Gate, East Naples, Lely closes. Photograph the panel before you pull it. Reactivation is often faster than a rip-out. Builder leftover keypads are not ADT. Count the slider and the garage walk-through.
City of Naples has no published annual user-permit dollar amount
Inside the City of Naples, Sec. 20-34 covers false alarms: first in six months $0 plus a written report in three working days, second $10, third and later $75. We have not found a published annual user-permit dollar amount for city addresses — we name the office from your ZIP and do not invent a City of Naples annual permit fee. Unincorporated Collier: the owner registers with the Collier County Sheriff’s False Alarm Bureau (since 2017). First two registered false alarms in 180 days $0. Unregistered second $25+$25. Third/fourth $75. Ninth and later $200. $5 alarm-awareness certificate. (877) 672-1386. Marco Island PD: we do not invent a residential burglar-permit dollar amount. Bonita Springs: permit through the sheriff; the fee is whatever is filed with the city clerk — we do not invent that dollar amount.
A leftover keypad on a resale is worth a photograph before you pull it. Reactivation is often faster than a rip-out. Say whether a guest house or cabana has its own key — that is a second door list, not a footnote.
What to have ready before you call
- ZIP and city — Marco Island is not Naples Police, Bonita Springs is not Collier city hall
- House, condo, apartment/rental, larger-lot, extra unit, leftover keypad — occupancy, not a style name
- Whether you own the home (promotional offers are for homeowners)
- A rough door and window count, including the garage and lanai slider
- Cameras yes or no, plus any HOA or board camera rules
- A photo of any leftover keypad
Call (239) 439-6005. You hear the monthly price, the $99 install, the 36-month agreement, and the permit office before anyone schedules a truck.
