Violent crime in the city proper sits low versus Florida. That is progress. It is not a reason to leave the lanai slider unlocked on a Tuesday in Old Naples while you are north until November.

NeighborhoodScout’s 2024 figures for the City of Naples (about 20,000 residents) listed roughly 22 violent crimes and 278 property crimes. Those are city-proper numbers. They mix Old Naples, Park Shore, and the in-city streets off Tamiami Trail. A quieter street is not 24/7 monitoring. A neighbor on the lanai is not an ADT operator. We do not invent FBI year totals we do not have.
Property crime here is porch packages, dock and vessel burglaries, golf-cart theft, and houses that sit empty from May through October. That is an occupancy problem. Monitoring is the product.
Vessel burglaries and marine electronics — GSAC, January 2026
The Greater Naples Plus Community Crime Map (GSAC) January 2026 blotter logged vessel burglaries targeting marine electronics. Docks in Aqualane, Port Royal, and East Naples hold radios, fish-finders, and batteries while the house is dark. A camera on the dock is useful. It is not the same as ADT calling you when a slider opens.
Naples homeowners can trust a SafeStreets security system monitored by ADT. The system is for the hours no one is looking out the window — not a claim that Fifth Avenue is dangerous.
A September 2026 1st Ave S burglary is an empty-house story
In September 2026 Naples Police arrested suspects in a burglary on 1st Avenue South / Oleander Drive that included a stolen BMW rental from the driveway. Cite it as a local example of an empty house and a car left in the drive — not as proof that “Naples is dangerous.” CCPS drop-off, a Fifth Avenue dinner, and a summer spent north all leave the same openings unwatched.
What people actually order after a missing package or a leftover keypad
Door and window sensors, including the lanai slider. A doorbell camera if packages sit out front. Outdoor cameras if the driveway holds a car or the dock holds a boat. Cellular backup so the panel still reaches ADT when FPL or LCEC drops. That is the Naples order, not a twelve-camera quote unless you ask for one.

Is Naples “safe enough” to skip monitoring?

Do quieter streets like Pelican Bay still order ADT?
